PA: 2 charged with first-degree homicide in 'hunting accident'
Friday, January 09, 2009
A woman already charged with conspiring with her brother to have her
estranged husband shot in a "hunting accident" near the Allegheny
National Forest has been charged with first-degree homicide along with
an alleged getaway driver.
Susan Yeager, 33, of Tionesta, and the driver, Robert A. Pessia, 26, of
Warren, already were charged with conspiracy in connection with the
death of Shawn Yeager, 39, on Dec. 5 at Mr. Yeager's house in Limestone
just outside the national forest.
The accused triggerman, Ms. Yeager's brother, Cory Altman, 28, remains
jailed on a homicide charge after state troopers said he shot Mr. Yeager
at his sister's behest.
Ms. Yeager and Mr. Pessia were arraigned on the new charges Wednesday
and jailed without bond.
After Mr. Altman shot Mr. Yeager in the back with a hunting rifle,
according to state troopers, he joked with Mr. Pessia that he'd "got his
buck for the year."
Mr. Yeager's two sons, ages 12 and 15, found his body on the porch when
they came home from school.
Troopers said Ms. Yeager had been telling people for three years that
she wanted Mr. Yeager dead.
