WALTON COUNTY -- A Walton County Sheriff's deputy helped out when
a 4 a.m. call came into the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation
Commission about a night hunting complaint.
The FWC officer responded, but found an off-duty deputy had
already found a vehicle with three males, a stolen gun and a freshly
killed doe, according to FWC's weekly report.
The deputy said he was awakened by the sound of a gunshot near
his home.
The three were booked into Walton County Jail for night hunting.
The one who shot the deer was also charged with being in possession
of a stolen shotgun.
