Iowa man charged with illegal turkey hunting

WEST UNION, Iowa (AP) - An Evansdale man who authorities say shot
a turkey from his car in northeast Iowa has been charged.
Forty-9-year-old Daniel Hermann is accused of shooting the wild
turkey on Tuesday near Wadena in Fayette County.
Authorities were notified of the incident after someone in the
area saw Hermann and someone in another vehicle hunting in the area.
Officials say Hermann's vehicle was found at a bar in Wadena.
Inside the vehicle, they found a loaded rifle, blood, feathers,
parts of a turkey and a blood-smeared knife.
Hermann received a citation for manner of conveyance for having a
loaded gun in his vehicle and unlawful transportation of an untagged
wild turkey.
The first turkey hunting season began on Monday.
