OH: Hunter charged with 26 misdemeanors
April 30, 2009
William Freitag, of Utica, was charged with 26 misdemeanors related to
the alleged illegal harvesting of a trophy white-tail deer in Knox County
last year, according to the Division of Wildlife. Freitag allegedly killed
at least two bucks in violation of Ohio's deer hunting regulations, which
allow one antlered deer per season.
Wildlife officers conducted a three-month investigation after a tip on the
Turn In A Poacher hotline. A search of Freitag's residents led to additional
charges that were filed in Mount Vernon Municipal Court.
