BISMARCK (AP) — A rural Bismarck man faces charges after authorities say
17 dead deer were found around his property.
Sixty-eight-year-old William Dethloff was charged with 17 counts
pertaining to shooting of deer and harboring their carcasses.
Court documents said a Game and Fish investigator found the dead deer —
all shot — in February. Some of the carcasses were in plain sight; others
were buried in the snow.
In 1997, Dethloff was ordered to forfeit his hunting privileges for 18
months for hunting without a license.
A call to a number listed for Dethloff rang unanswered on Friday.
