September 9, 2010
BRIEF: Two men arrested on drug charges
Two men were arrested on felony drug charges after one of them received
treatment for a hunting injury, according to Dave Orr, Stutsman County
sheriff.
Brandon Daniel Wahl, 26, Fargo was treated at Jamestown Hospital for
injuries received after a hunting accident east of Buchanan, N.D., Saturday.
The Stutsman County Sheriff's Office typically investigates any report of
a hunting accident, said Sgt. Damian Hoyt. Upon investigation and with the
help of the drug-sniffing dog from Jamestown Police Department, deputies
discovered marijuana, marijuana paraphernalia, Adderall pills and
hallucinogenic mushrooms, Hoyt said.
Wahl and Adam Christopher Bryn, 24, Argusville, N.D., were charged with
two charges of possession of a controlled substance Class I and possession
of a controlled substance Class II, both Class C felonies. They were also
charged with possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) and possession
of marijuana paraphernalia, both Class A misdemeanors.
A Class C felony is punishable by a maximum penalty of five years in
prison and a $5,000 fine. A Class A misdemeanor is punishable by a maximum
penalty of one year in prison and a $2,000 fine.
