Millsboro hunter charged with weapons offenses
A Millsboro man who's prohibited of possessing weapons and ammunition was
arrested by DNREC Enforcement agents. 46 year old Michael States was
arrested on October 29th on weapons charges. Enforcement officials say
anyone with a felony conviction on their record is prohibited from
possessing and using hunting weapons - including guns and bows. States is
free on bond.
NEWS RELEASE: Millsboro man arrested on weapons charges DOVER (Nov. 5,
2010) - DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife Enforcement agents on Oct. 29
arrested a Millsboro-area man on weapons charges.
Michael J. States, age 46, of 27291 Lookout Road, White House Beach,
Millsboro, was arrested and charged with possession of a deadly weapon and
ammunition by a person prohibited. He was taken to Justice of the Peace
Court No. 3 in Georgetown and released on $2,000 unsecured bond.
"With hunting season coming up, we'd like to remind anyone with a felony
conviction on their record that he or she is prohibited from possessing and
using hunting weapons including guns and bows," said Fish and Wildlife
Enforcement spokesman Sgt. Gregory Rhodes.
Citizens are encouraged to report fish and wildlife violations to the
Delaware Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Section at 302-739-4580.
