Troopers seek tips about multiple elk poachings near Tillamook Henry
Miller .
November 22, 2010
Troopers with the Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife Division are
asking for tips to help catch the poachers who killed three elk, leaving two
to rot, in the Trask Unit near Tillamook.
A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered by the Oregon Hunter's
Association for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this
case.
On Saturday, the Tillamook office of the state police got information
about three illegally killed elk near the East Fork Bypass Road (Trask
River).
Senior Trooper Lalo Guerra drove to the site and found one elk skinned
and gutted with most of the meat taken, a second elk whose head was removed
and no meat taken, and a third elk that was untouched.
Anyone with information is asked to call Guerra at (503) 815-3315 or you
can remain anonymous and still be eligible for the reward by calling the
Turn in Poacher (TIP) number at (800) 452-7888.
