Hunter allegedly aims for deer, wounds track star

MATTAPOISETT — In trying to shoot a deer Friday afternoon, a hunter may have wounded a high school track star who was running in the woods near Old Rochester Regional High School, according to witness reports.

Mattapoisett resident Michael Tiger, an Old Rochester senior, was injured in the calf when a group of at least four hunters shot at a deer sometime after 4 p.m..
