Police make arrests for illegal hunting and trespassing in Kona

On Saturday, February 26, 2011, at 5:45 p.m., Kona Patrol Officers
responded to a call of a gunshot near the Puulani Ranch Subdivision, in
Pu’uanahulu. Officers at the scene determined that five adult males and one
juvenile female had been involved in illegal hunting activities within the
State of Hawaii property.
Police arrested and charged Eric Kennel, M-21, of Pu’uanahulu, for
Hunting Violations and Criminal Trespassing in the second degree, and Max
Simon, M-20, of Kailua-Kona, for Criminal Trespassing in the second degree.
On February 27, 2011, Police arrested Keola Toriano, M-20, of Kailua-Kona,
for Criminal Trespassing in the first degree, who was released pending
further investigation.
The investigation is currently being continued by officers assigned to
the Kona Patrol Division.
