Several fined over violations of DEC laws in north country

The state Department of Environmental Conservation Region 6 reported the following fines and violations of environmental conservation law in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties:

JEFFERSON COUNTY

■ Travis R. Sprague, 27, Watertown, paid $100 in fines and a $75 court fee for attempting to take wildlife out of season Dec. 11 in the town of Lorraine. He appeared Feb. 1 in Town Court.

■ James D. Ackley, 35, Rodman, paid $100 in fines and a $75 court fee for hunting without a license Nov. 11 in the town of Lorraine. He appeared Feb. 15 in Town Court.

■ Donald E. Ackley, 61, Adams, paid $500 in fines and a $75 court fee for discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, taking small game other than during the open season and possessing a loaded firearm while in a vehicle Jan. 26 in the town of Lorraine. He appeared March 16 in Town Court.

■ Richard A. Searchfield, 46, Three Mile Bay, paid $25 in fines and a $75 court fee for taking bass during closed season May 14 in the town of Lyme. He appeared June 6 in Town Court.

■ Bradley L. Lillie, 37, Belleville, paid $100 in fines and $75 in court fees for failing to comply with a lawful order of a conservation officer April 8 in the town of Lorraine. He appeared April 12 in Town Court.

■ David E. Beattie Jr., 47, Lorraine, granted one unconditional discharge and also paid $700 in fines and $80 in court fees for taking wildlife with the aid of a motor vehicle, discharging a firearm from a public highway and taking deer during the closed season Dec. 14 in the town of Lorraine. He appeared Jan. 11 in Town Court.

■ Ryan R. Carter, 22, LaFargeville, paid $100 in fines and $75 in court fees for hunting without a valid license Dec. 4 in the town of Theresa. He appeared June 7 in Town Court.

■ Christopher R. Chamberlain, 26, Adams Center, paid $600 in fines and $77.50 in court fees for hunting without a valid license and taking an antlerless deer without a permit Nov. 28 in the town of Lorraine. He appeared Dec. 14 in Town Court.

■ Jordan J. Coburn, 23, Adams, was granted a conditional discharge and paid $75 in court fees for trespassing on posted land Oct. 31 in the town of Lorraine. He appeared March 8 in Town Court.

■ Dale D. Woolston, 25, Watertown, paid $450 in fines and was granted an unconditional discharge and also paid $80 in court fees for taking deer during the closed season, discharging a firearm from a public highway and taking wildlife with the aid of a motor vehicle Dec. 14 in the town of Lorraine. He appeared Feb. 8 in Town Court.

■ Myron Clute, 69, Akwesasne, paid no fine and a $25 court fee for taking fish by snatching Oct. 4 in the town of Hounsfield. He appeared April 28 in Town Court.

■ William R. Lunderman, 59, Watertown paid $500 in fines and $25 in court fees for taking more than one antlered deer during the regular season Nov. 14 in the town of Hounsfield. He appeared Dec. 2 in Town Court.

■ Michael W. Desens, 36, Williamson, paid $50 in fines and $75 in court fees for operating an all-terrain vehicle Feb. 18 on Black Pond Barrier Beach in the town of Ellisburg. He appeared April 4 in Town Court.

■ Michael G. Whisker, 54, West Henrietta, paid $50 in fines and $75 in court fees for operating an all-terrain vehicle Feb. 18 on Black Pond Barrier Beach in the town of Ellisburg. He appeared April 7 in Town Court.

■ Jonathan J. Desens, 33, Ashland, Mass., paid $50 in fines and $75 in court fees for operating an all-terrain vehicle Feb. 18 on Black Pond Barrier Beach in the town of Ellisburg. He appeared April 7 in Town Court.

■ David M. Desens, 39, Rochester, paid $50 in fines and $75 in court fees for operating an all-terrain vehicle Feb. 18 on Black Pond Barrier Beach in the town of Ellisburg. He appeared April 7 in Town Court.

■ Thomas E. Kerber, 53, Adams Center, paid $50 in fines and $75 in court fees for operating an all-terrain vehicle Feb. 18 on Black Pond Barrier Beach in the town of Ellisburg. He appeared April 7 in Town Court.

■ Jared A. Buisch, 53, Clarks Summit, Pa., paid a $5 fine and $75 in court fees for fishing without a license May 7 in the town of Alexandria. He appeared the same day in Town Court.

■ Edward A. Buisch, 51, Clarks Summit, Pa., paid a $5 fine and $75 in court fees for fishing without a license May 7 in the town of Alexandria. He appeared the same day in Town Court.

■ Joshua E. Buisch, 29, Dickson City, Pa., paid a $5 fine and $75 in court fees for fishing without a license May 7 in the town of Alexandria. He appeared the same day in Town Court.

■ William J. Fischer Jr., 31, Scott Township, Pa., paid a $5 fine and $75 in court fees for fishing without a license May 7 in the town of Alexandria. He appeared the same day in Town Court.

■ Derek J. Cormier, 28, Lufkin, Texas, paid a $5 fine and $75 in court fees for fishing without a license May 7 in the town of Alexandria. He appeared the same day in Town Court.

■ Keon T. Byrd, 22, Calcium, paid a $75 fine and $75 in court fees for the unlawful disposal of solid waste March 30 in the town of Champion. He appeared May 5 in Town Court.

■ Steven M. Rubyor, 28, Watertown, paid $100 in fines and $75 in court fees for unlawfully conducting business at a state access site Oct. 9 in the town of Ellisburg. He appeared Dec. 15 in Town Court.

■ Mark A. Holder, 47, Redwood, paid $100 in fines and $75 in court fees for taking fish in excess of the daily limit April 3 in the town of Theresa. He appeared May 31 in Town Court.

■ Derrick A. Mathews, 25, Fort Plain, paid $75 in fines and $25 in court fees for possession of foul-hooked fish Oct. 7 in the town of Hounsfield. He appeared April 21 in Town Court.

LEWIS COUNTY

■ Kevin J. Dailey, 30, Port Leyden, paid $75 in fines and $85 in court fees for being an unlicensed driver Dec. 5 in the town of Lyonsdale. He appeared May 12 in Town Court.

■ Kyle R. Luther, 22, Lyons Falls, paid a $100 fine for not wearing a personal flotation device April 10 in the town of Lyonsdale. He appeared May 4 in Town Court.

■ Shawn Foley, 53, Lyons Falls, paid a $100 fine for not wearing a personal flotation device April 10 in the town of Lyonsdale. He appeared May 4 in Town Court.

■ Darrin M. Brown, 44, Port Leyden, paid a $100 fine for not wearing a personal flotation device April 10 in the town of Lyonsdale. He appeared May 4 in Town Court.

ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY

■ Tyler R. Paige, 22, Potsdam, paid a $150 fine for the illegal disposal of solid waste July 1 in the town of Norfolk. He appeared April 27 in Town Court.

■ Earl I. Davis, Jr., 62, Hammond, paid $150 in fines and $75 in court fees for setting traps to catch multiple muskrats April 5 in the town of Morristown. He appeared April 14 in Town Court.

■ Desteny A. Smith, 21, Fort Drum, paid $100 in fines and $25 in court fees for unlawful open burning April 10 in the town of Fowler. She appeared May 11 in Town Court.

■ Shane W. Terrance, 42, Gouverneur, paid $200 in fines and $75 in court fees for the illegal disposal of solid waste April 12 in the town of Gouverneur. He appeared May 25 in Town Court.

■ Thomas H. Sleeman, 59, Gouverneur paid $150 in fines and $25 in court fees for unlawful open burning April 12 in the town of Gouverneur. He appeared May 19 in Town Court.

■ Shawn M. Cullen II, 22, Rensselaer Falls, paid $25 in fines for failing to mark traps with name and address March 26 in the town of Oswegatchie. He appeared May 2 in Town Court.

■ Todd A. Merrill, 49, Ogdensburg, paid $50 in fines and $125 in court fees for disorderly conduct Nov. 22 in the town of Gouverneur. He appeared May 19 in Town Court.

■ Ray L. Bass, Jr., 57, Perkins, Ga., paid $100 in fines and $75 in court fees for fishing without a license May 11 in the town of Morristown. He appeared May 13 in Town Court.

■ Cody L. Fuller, 19, Gouverneur, paid $200 in fines and $50 in court fees for taking walleye and disturbing walleye on spawning bed during closed season April 4 in the town of Hammond. He appeared May 12 in Town Court.

■ Samantha J. Willard, 28, Potsdam, paid $25 in fines and $2.50 in court fees for unlawful open burning April 2 in the town of Potsdam. She appeared May 26 in Town Court.
