DNREC Police Blotter
DOVER – DNREC Division of Fish & Wildlife Enforcement agents
responded to 54 complaints and issued 12 citations between Nov. 7
and 14. Additional citations not compiled by press time will be
reported in the next blotter.
Citations issued by violation
type included the following, with the number of charges in
parentheses:
Wildlife Conservation: Hunting on a refuge (1),
New Castle County; wildlife area rule violation (2) and possession
of unlawfully taken game (1), Kent County; spotlighting game (2),
hunting with an unplugged shotgun (1), and failure to register
antlered deer prior to butchering (1), Sussex County.
Note: “Hunting on a refuge” refers to hunting on any
municipal-owned or state-owned public property not designated as a
wildlife area open to hunting. “Wildlife area rule violation” covers
violations of the rules for each wildlife area, which are listed on
the back of wildlife area maps and with online maps. In this case,
the violations were: hunting while intoxicated, which is a violation
on all state wildlife areas, and hunting 100 yards away from an
assigned deer stand.
