From Hastings Star Gazette
Dakota County deputies arrested a duck hunter at Spring Lake Park
Thursday, Nov. 29, after he allegedly shot at another hunter during
an argument at the park in Nininger Township, west of Hastings.
A hunter was angrily confronted by another hunter as he was placing
decoys in the water. Words were exchanged and eventually the
argument grew heated.
It culminated with one hunter shooting a
shotgun at the individual placing the decoys in the water.
Both the victim and a witness reported pellets striking the side of
the victim’s boat. No one was struck by the pellets.
The
suspect was positively identified by the victim and witness, and was
transported to the Dakota County Jail in Hastings. He was booked on
probable cause for assault.
