Two metro Detroit relatives are taking some heat from Warren
police and Mayor Jim Fouts, accused of killing a deer in the city
with a bow and arrow.
Fouts is so outraged that he released
a statement today saying he wants the judge to “inflict the maximum
fine, and when these predators are on trial, I will be sitting in
the courtroom to be certain they pay for their crimes.”
He said probation is “not satisfactory.”
Myles Ehret, 19,
of Royal Oak and William Francis, 27, of Riverview are charged with
cruelty to animals, a four-year felony, and were given $10,000 cash
surety bonds, according to information from Fouts’ office. Police
are seeking a search warrant to gather more evidence of the slain
deer.
“I consider deer in our city a domesticated animal
because their tameness and the joy they bring to observers,
especially children,” Fouts said in his release.
