(WMC-TV) – A school bus shooting in Panola County is now being
investigated as a hunting accident.
Now, one 10-year-old boy
is in the hospital.
"The child was in the bus as it was
moving," District Attorney John Champion said. "He was shot through
the back."
Champion says investigators believe the bullet
grazed the child's back.
Action News 5 has learned the
10-year-old was a student in the South Panola School System.
"It could possibly have been a hunter out there that had fired a
shot that hit the bus and hit the child," Champion answered.
Champion says authorities believe they know who the shooter is, and
so far the person has been cooperative in their investigation.
