A Roanoke man faces a misdemeanor charge for shooting a wild
turkey out of season.
A resident reported hearing a gunshot about 8:40 a.m. Sunday and
then seeing the man put a dead tom turkey into the bed of a pickup
truck.
A conservation officer found the truck and interviewed the man,
who acknowledged killing the turkey.
The officer seized the turkey, and a misdemeanor charge of taking
a wild turkey during the closed season will be filed against the
man.
