DE: Several arrests made for wildlife violations

The owner of a butcher shop near New Castle has been cited for illegal sale of deer meat, state wildlife officials say.
Mark S. Perry, 54, of the New Castle area, also was cited for possession of untagged antlered deer. Perry’s citations carry a fine of $1,569 if he is found guilty.
An investigation into illegal waterfowl hunting at Barkers Landing near Magnolia led to the Nov. 30 arrest of Alec F. Gebhart, 23, of Dover.
Gebhart was charged with the two felonies – possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and possession of ammunition by a prohibited person – along with several misdemeanor offenses. He was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
Gerry E. Wink, 59, of Greenwood, was arrested Nov. 30 near Greenwood and charged with hunting deer during a closed season and two counts of using an unlawful weapon – a rifle and handgun – to hunt deer, he said. He was released on $750 unsecured bail.
Jacob F. Stoner, 18, pleaded guilty to one count each of failure to wear hunter orange and trespassing to hunt, for which he paid $219 in fines and court costs, Rhodes said.
Jacob H. Stoner, 54, pleaded guilty to one count of conspirary and paid $375 in fines and court costs, authorities said.
Robert Summerhill, 25, pleaded guilty to trespassing to hunt and failure to wear hunter orange and paid $219 in fines and court costs, he said.
Christopher Culpo, 19, of Georgetown, was charged Dec. 2 with carrying a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle, conspiracy, hunting from a motor vehicle, failure to tag antlerless deer hunting deer during a closed season, and other crimes, Rhodes said. He was released on $1,800 unsecured bail.
