GA: 4 arrested after north Georgia deer hunter shot

Northeast Georgia sheriff’s deputies arrested four people this
week after authorities said they lied about the facts concerning the
shooting of a deer hunter the day after Christmas.
were questioned following the shooting on property off U.S. Highway
29 near Hartwell.
Eddie Carroll, 51; Brenda Carroll, 49;
Michael Crocker, 33; and Amanda Herrington, 31, were all charged
with giving false statements to law enforcement and hindering the
apprehension of a criminal.
Henry Allen Harris, 28, is
charged with shooting Bren Stone, 28, of Canon.
was seriously wounded when the bullet went through his arm and into
his abdomen, underwent surgery for a second time this week at a
hospital in Anderson, S.C., the sheriff said.
occurred after Stone left his deer stand. Stone had walked about 30
feet before he was shot.
Authorities estimate that the
suspect was about 200 feet from Stone when he fired his gun. Harris
never attempted to render aid after shooting Stone, who likely would
have died had he not had a cellphone to call for help, Cleveland
