"Police pieced together the story of that tragic day when
King Jr., a Westerly resident, died of a single gunshot wound to the upper
back.
"Four members of the hunting party were charged in
connection with his death on a variety of misdemeanors, including failure
to render aid, hunting without a license, conspiracy to violate fish and
game
laws, hunting in a party greater than five people, employing a dog while
hunting deer and obstruction of justice."
