BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. -- A man led deputies on a chase
after hunting where he was not allowed.
Wildlife officers and Brevard County deputies spotted him
in the Sebastian Inlet Buffer Preserve off I-95 late Thursday night.
The man was determined not to get busted but, in the end,
that's exactly what happened. Deputies hand-cuffed him and charged him with
hunting deer in a preserve located about 16 miles south of Palm Bay.
The man ran from Fish and Wildlife officers after they
spotted him along a canal. They chased him on foot and tracked him down with
a helicopter, catching up with him at mile marker 160 on I-95.
That's where deputies confiscated the rifle and
flashlight they say the man tried to hunt deer with.
The sheriff's office is assisting in the investigation.
