Directory of Vegetarian (Vegan) Pastors and Churches Who Are Animal Friendly

Winchester, Massachusetts
Winchester Unitarian Society

The Winchester Unitarian Society is a welcoming, caring community dedicated to spiritual growth, social transformation, and environmental responsibility.

Our Co-Ministers, the Revs. John and Sarah Millspaugh, eat a vegan diet due to their compassion for animals. Rev. John has published several magazine articles on the ethical and spiritual calls to compassion for animals, has served as Co-President of UUs for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, and currently heads our Association’s national group coordinating the work of hundreds of congregations on a four-year topic of study and action: “Ethical Eating: Food and Environmental Justice.”

Our “Mindful Eating” group encourages all congregants to develop awareness of how their eating choices impact animal suffering, environmental degradation, climate change, and human rights.

All of our potluck gatherings at offer labeled vegetarian and vegan options, and our annual auction often features events promoting eating lower on the food chain.

Our annual “Blessing of the Animals” service is one of the most beloved services of the year.

Bordering Arlington, Medford, Stoneham, and Woburn, Winchester Unitarian Society welcomes all people who want to find an animal friendly spiritual community in Greater Boston.
