1. Cheese, the latest junk food: According to new regulations in commercials promoting cheese will be banned during children's TV programs in Great Britain. A new Government drive is trying to reduce children's exposure to foods high in fat, salt and sugar and cheese definitely falls under these descriptions; therefore, cheese is to be treated as junk food under new advertising rules for children's television.

Not surprisingly, The National Farmers' Union is not happy with this new regulation and spokesman Anthony Gibson said, “There is no such thing as a bad food. It is just how much of it you eat, in what balance and how much exercise you take.”

3. One more reason to skip cow’s milk: A recent study led by German scientists indicates that milk eliminates the protective effect against cardiovascular disease that some teas have. Tea has been shown to improve blood flow and the ability of the arteries to relax. Scientists are also trying to determine if the anti-cancer properties of tea might be affected my milk.

We are made in the image of a loving and forgiving God, and we are called to witness God’s love to all Creation by being forgiving, compassionate and merciful.

5. Hormones in beef: Learn the facts! With little regard for the cows or the humans that eventually eat them, the beef industry pumps growth hormones into upwards of 80 percent of beef cattle raised in the U.S. each year. These hormones are intended to boost growth rates and increase body mass--think cows on steroids.
