1. Glenn Beck on Al Gore Avoiding an Inconvenient
Truth:Glenn Beck, well-known conservative talk-radio and television
host, offers information about the link between global warming and
animal agriculture. He talks about Al Gore and his refusal to
acknowledge this link and why he agrees with PETA on this issue.
2."We have to be braver than
we think we can be, because God is constantly calling us to be more than
~ Madeleine L'Engle (1928 – present), American novelist
Stock Rapidly Declining: Tuna fishermen in the Indian
Ocean have experienced this year their lowest tuna catch in the last 11
years. This significant reduction of 36% may be due to overfishing or
even global warming, experts say. They are hoping to find out more in a

As long as
overfishing continues, many aquatic species are pushed to alarming low
numbers, even to extinction. A plant-based diet not only helps reduce
animal exploitation, but also helps us restore the environment and take
care of our bodies.

5. Food, Faith,
Animals and Environment:Religious communities, especially Christians, Jews and
Muslims, are getting organized to take a stand on agricultural
practices, given that these religions faith and food are closely linked.
For example, the Religious Working Group on the Farm Bill, a national
coalition of more than a dozen religious organizations, is lobbying
Congress for legislation to help small farms. the National Catholic
Rural Life Conference is helping congregations and universities in the
Midwest buy local produce from family farmers and environment-minded Jews are
asking the leaders of Conservative Judaism to rewrite their kosher
certification rules to incorporate ethical concerns about workers,
animals and the land.
Taking care of our
health, the environment and animals is being obedient to God and it’s
encouraging to see religious leaders and followers taking a stand for
God’s Creation. While alleviating animal suffering through less abusive
farming is a step toward a harmonious and peaceful world, neither will
be attained unless we stop exploiting animals and the environment for
