1. Interview to an Undercover Investigator

Thanks to people like "Pete", who works as an undercover investigator for the animal advocacy movement, is that footage of factory farms is obtained. TIME magazine interviewed him to learn about his undercover work, what he's seen in factory farms and how he is able to cope with it.

2. Famous Quote

“Liberty is given by nature even to mute animals.”
~ Tacitus (55-117 A.D.)

3. Horse Slaughter Support

Many states are opposing, or have already opposed, HR 503, the federal Conyers-Burton Prevention of Equine Cruelty Act, which would eliminate horse slaughter nationwide and prohibit the export of horses to slaughter. South Dakota State Rep. Dave Sigdestad said, "We want to take the emotion out of the slaughter issue and look at it economically." 4. Bible Quote :(RSV) Romans 3:23-24

"... since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, they are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus,"

This verse reminds us that we live in an imperfect world and that all of us make mistakes. Sometimes we like to see ourselves more righteous than others, which only leads to judgment, criticism and intolerance. It is only by the grace of God that we are able to do what is right, to show compassion and to show love to all of God's Creation.

5. Ban of Downer Cows Made Final

After last year's biggest beef recall in U.S. history followed by a proposal by the USDA to ban the slaughter of "downer" cows, finally the Obama administration made the proposal permanent in order to minimize the chance that mad cow disease could enter the food supply. Tom Vilsack, Secretary of Agriculture, said the ban was "a step forward for both food safety and the standards for humane treatment of animals."

It is great news that these suffering cows will be spared of a terrible death and will hopefully be quickly and humanely euthanized. Probably, with the exposure of the cruelty of factory farming more people will decide to adopt a healthy and compassionate plant-based diet for the sake of all of God's Creation: our bodies, God's animals and the environment.

6. Food, Inc. Coming to Theaters

Food, Inc. a documentary produced by Produced by Robert Kenner and Elise Pearlstein (producers of An Inconvenient Truth), deals with the horrors of modern agriculture in the US. Due to be released June 12th the film includes graphic material from factory farms and slaughterhouses and is sure to be an eye-opener for the viewer.

It's fantastic that the reality of modern animal agriculture is made public. A great way to help expose the victimization of God's animals, and what it does to our health and the environment, is to encourage family and friends to watch this movie.
