1. Vegetarian Kids

More children and teenagers are choosing a plant-based diet for different choices: environmental, ethical, etc. Parents often worry if their kids are getting all the necessary nutrients a growing body needs. A vegetarian diet can be a healthy, tasty and very convenient choice without much planning, just following certain guidelines to ensure proper nutrition. To read the full article please search online for: Kids can thrive on a vegetarian diet, but parents need to pay close attention

It is often children the ones who teach/remind us of our innate sense of compassion and justice. Our choice of diet invariably affects God’s Creation, by creating suffering and devastation or by helping reconcile God’s Creation. It is our faith and hearts that lead us to choose a diet according to our beliefs.

2. Famous Quote

"The human body has no more need for cows' milk than it does for dogs' milk, horses' milk, or giraffes' milk."

~ Michael Klaper, MD

4. Bible Verse

(RSV) 1 John 4:18

There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and he who fears is not perfected in love.

Fear and love cannot coexist together. By the same token, if we truly loved God's Creation, no creature would fear us. We should do our best to reflect God's love in us onto all Creation to reduce fear and suffering on Earth.

5. More Benefits of a Plant Based Diet

Numerous studies have shown that reducing cholesterol helps reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes. Moreover, a major study by Kaiser Permanente and the University of Kuopio (Finland) also concluded in August 2009 that high cholesterol is associated with Alzheimer's Disease. Taking into account the many advantages to keeping our cholesterol in a healthy range, it makes sense to try to do what we can to reach this goal. One of the most important things we could do is to eat healthy foods and this article lists the 10 top healthier foods including soy, fruits and veggies, and grains and seeds. It also mentions the importance of avoiding animal products which are loaded with cholesterol. To read the full article please search online for: Controlling Cholesterol and Beating Heart Disease

The rate of most chronic diseases can be lowered dramatically by following a well-balanced plant-based diet. Taking care of our bodies is good stewardship of what God has made.

6. This Week’s Video – The Shocking Truth about Dairy

John McDougall, MD, is a well-renowned physician and acclaimed author. He routinely reverses and cures chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease by helping people adopt a well-balanced plant-based diet. One of McDougall's conclusions based on his research and medical practice is that dairy is one of the foods that should be eliminated first because of the array of diseases it may cause.
