1. Is A Plant-Based Diet Right For You?

Indeed, a plant-based diet is not for everyone!

Please visit 8 Reasons Why Choosing a Vegan Diet May Not Be For You.

Sometimes we have to laugh in order to look at the big picture. Eating animals causes pain, causes disease and causes devastation; not good things if we strive to be good stewards of God’s Creation.

2. Famous Quote

“Just keep it simple. Kill the chickens, sell’em and make some money.”

~ Don Tyson (CEO of Tyson Foods)

3. USDA to Consider Diet for a Healthy Planet

For the first time ever, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Department of Health and Human Services 2015 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee is considering diet as an important variable for a healthy planet. Especially, they recognize that less meat is imperative to restore the environment.

Please visit U.S. agencies consider a diet for a healthy planet.

What we eat has profound consequences. Fewer animal products translate into using fewer non-renewable resources, less pollution, less global warming gases, fewer hormones and antibiotics, fewer pesticides and chemical fertilizers, etc. Sometimes less is better!

4. Bible Verse
(RSV) Colossians 3:1

Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, and patience…

Paul reminds us that we need to strive to be loving, compassionate, humble and patient. These qualities help us reflect God's love onto all Creation.

5. Renowned Marine Biologist, Sylvia Earle, on Why She Doesn’t Eat Fish

This is an excellent interview with Sylvia Earle, renowned marine biologist and pioneering oceanographer, who explains her decision of not eating fish – one she made 40 years ago. She refers to fish as sentient beings, who are no different than wildlife on land, and she emphasizes on the pollution in the oceans and the havoc industrial fishing is creating in most fish populations.

Please visit Sylvia Earle on eating fish: 'Think of them as wildlife, first and foremost'

Fish are sentient creatures. They feel, suffer, and avoid pain and death as much as possible, just like us or other land animals.
Humanity is decimating fish species at unimaginable rates! Unless we take a stand and choose to eat compassionately and sustainably, fish simply don’t stand a chance.
