1. Vegan Diet for Diabetes Pain

Diabetes affects millions of people every year in the U.S. One common complication of this disease is pain that can damage any of the body’s nerve fibers. Fortunately, a simple solution to diabetes and the pain it causes has proven to be a low-fat, plant-based diet. Studies have shown this diet is just as effective as commonly prescribed medication in the treatment of type 2 diabetes.

A plant-based diet has no negative side effects, as opposed to medications. So why not be kind to our bodies and kind to animals by adopting a plant-based diet?

2. This Week’s Famous Quote

Loyalty to a petrified opinion never yet broke a chain or freed a human soul.
—Mark Twain, American author (1835–1910)

3. Dairy and Cancer Link

The link between dairy products and certain cancers is overwhelming. It’s no surprise then that so many people every day choose to replace dairy with plant-based options. Read the story of a scientist who chose to take charge of her health and decided to beat cancer attacking it from every angle, especially with diet.

Dairy hurts. It hurts people, it hurts animals and it hurts the planet. Replacing dairy is a healthy, compassionate and sustainable decision that helps all of God’s creation.

4. This Week’s Bible Verse
(RSV) John 15:10

If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love.

As many of us have heard it say: Love is not just a feeling, but it is action. Christians are called to show our love for God by being obedient to Jesus’ teachings. For us, Christian Vegetarians, that includes our diet. We are being obedient to God in that we are taking care of our bodies, alleviating animal suffering, helping maintain our environment as healthy as possible and, what I consider very important, witnessing to our neighbors through our lifestyle of non-violence, love, respect, compassion and mercy for God’s creation.

Let’s thank God for providing us with Jesus’ example and ministry. We should pray that our love for His creation can bring other people to Him. We should pray for strength in remaining obedient (although imperfectly) and for effectiveness in witnessing.

5. Vegan Diet Boosts Energy!
