People of faith speak up

Religious people from different faiths are taking a stand against the destruction of God’s Creation and are not afraid to speak up. Jews, Buddhists, Hindus and Christian alike are raising awareness on the troublesome human actions that are degrading the environment and its creatures.

Religious environmentalism is gaining momentum and as Walt Grazer, director of the U.S. Council of Catholic Bishops eco-justice task force, says: “We’ve helped people realize that caring for the environment is part of your religious faith as a believer… a way to say ‘yes,’ to say ‘thank you,’ to God.”

Caring for the environment also entails taking care of God’s animals. The transition to a plant based diet reduces contamination and the most voluminous cruelty on animals; moreover, it helps us to take care of our bodies, temples of the Holy Spirit.
