Why animals matter
An essay published at the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics on the Santa Clara University website, approaches the questions of why animals matter within Christendom.
Jesse Ramirez explores the issues surrounding animals rights based on a Theocentric thesis. He argues that factory farms put believers in moral conflict because they harm animals. However, Jesse Ramirez believes that eating animals that “were allowed to develop at a natural pace, have plenty of space, live in their natural environments, express natural behavior, and keep their beaks and tails” do not violate any Christian moral concern or obligation.
