ConocoPhillips, the third-largest
U.S. oil company, and Tyson Foods Inc., the world's biggest meat
producer, will joint efforts in developing diesel fuel from animal
fat. Tyson's half of its annual 2.3 billion pounds of animal fat is
expected to be used.

It's saddening that the quest for
profit leads to ignore the suffering of billion of animals that are
raised for food every year. Animal agriculture produces massive
amounts of animal waste that pollute our land and water.

To combine efforts to address the "tip of the iceberg" while
ignoring the short-sighted practices of industrial agriculture is to
contribute to animal suffering and environmental destruction while
deceiving the consumer.
The transition to a plant-based diet helps
reduce animal agricultural waste, animal suffering and helps us take
care of our bodies.
