Questionable agricultural practices in China

Among the agricultural practices found questionable in China such as flooding produce with unapproved pesticides, pumping livestock with antibiotics banned in the United States, and using human feces as fertilizer to boost soil productivity, one of the more concerning ones is the practice of frequently suspending chickens pens over ponds where seafood is raised, recycling chicken waste as a food source for seafood.

According to Representative Rosa DeLauro, who is fighting the import of such products to the US, said "They need to hear from us they're at risk. Congress has to look at limiting some of their agricultural imports."

Agricultural practices in China, and elsewhere in the world, are putting our health at risk and God’s animals through immense pain and suffering. While some practices are more questionable than others, the fact that animals are raised for mass production under extreme confinement should raise a flag in our hearts and consciences. A transition to a plant-base diet would help end some of those practices, would help alleviate animal suffering, and help restore our health and the environment.
