Australian Fine Wool Source of Controversy
The Royal Society for the
Protection of Animals (RSPCA) in Australia is calling for the
practice of "battery sheep" to end. These sheep are raised under
intense confinement in individual pens to protect their wool; and
therefore, deprived of natural grazing behavior and social
interaction. Consequently they show abnormal behaviors such as
swaying and chewing wood and wire enclosures. The ultra-fine wool
sells for more than 100 times the price of regular wool.

Whether God's animals are exploited
for their flesh and/or fur, the fact that they undergo pain and
suffering is undeniable. We are called to be compassionate and
merciful to all creatures, and in that way reflect God's love for
