James E. McWilliams, associate professor of history at Texas State
University at San Marcos, recent fellow in the agrarian studies program
at Yale University and author of "Just Food" explains in this
wonderfully-written article why animal agriculture is so devastating for
the environment. He says, "[Animal agriculture] is trashing the air,
water and soil; causing more global warming than the transportation
industry; consuming massive amounts of fossil fuel; unleashing the
cruelest sort of suffering on innocent and sentient beings; failing to

Bellying up to environmentalism
It's appalling how indifferent people can be to the devastation that
industrial agriculture is causing to God's Creation. Unless we step-up
and take responsibility for our actions, the generations to come will
suffer greatly from our selfishness and arrogance. Transitioning to a
plant-based diet honors God's Creation.
