1 Samuel 16:7
(RSV)But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for the LORD sees not as man sees; man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart."
Our appearance and possessions say little about our beliefs. God is concerned about our actions that reflect what it’s in our heart. Let our actions and thoughts be compassionate and loving toward all Creation.
While today’s society, more often than not, focuses on appearance and bases success on wealth and power, our Creator is concerned about our hearts and our willingness to obey Him/Her. Our attitude towards God’s creatures reflects the condition of our hearts in relationship to God.
God calls us to reflect His/Her love for us onto all Creation. Our actions reflect the state of our hearts.
