Food Inspector Blows the Whistle
Dean Wyatt, a Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) veterinarian, blew the whistle on his agency earlier this month. Wyatt told lawmakers that managers at different slaughterhouses repeatedly failed to pay attention to his warnings about the inhumane mishandling of animals and that the FSIS did nothing about it.

Once again we are reminded of the callousness of the meat industry and also of the integrity and bravery of a person who in spite of the odds decided to do what it right. Wyatt did what his role as a food inspector required, and as such, we should also act accordingly to our role of stewards of God's Creation and not support industries that exploit God's animals.
