Christian Vegetarian Association Presents:
Take Heart!
A Carnist’s Opinion

Joshua Greenman, NY Daily News staff writer, recognizes and in some way praises that the animal rights movement has not only produced palpable successes but has created an unstoppable tide that is leading humanity to an ethical evolution and revolution. He points out that these changes comprise every facet of our lives and non-human animal lives: from animals used in experimentation to animals exploited for food. It is undeniable that a compassionate and ethical movement is growing and that many barbaric and truthfully anachronistic practices are coming to an end, such as the banning of animals in circuses in many countries around the word. However, the most voluminous exploitation of God’s animals takes place in the hands of the animal agriculture industry. Over 55 billion land animals are raised and killed every year worldwide, involving much pain, fear and suffering. Unless this practice comes to and end, we cannot claim to have become a more ethical or evolved society.
