Christian Vegetarian Association Presents:
Take Heart!
Obesity in Chickens, Obesity in Humans

Kathy Freston, vegan best-seller, explains why it’s just not a good idea to eat chicken. Many people upon learning about the negative effects of red meat on their health decide to replace it with chicken; however, the way chickens are raised today in factory farm, makes them fatter much sooner. Dr. Michael Greger puts it well: "So now chicken has 10 times more fat and ten times more calories, so that could explain why chicken has been tied to human abdominal girth."

Chickens are exploited without any concern for their health or their life. We need to realize that we cannot get away with causing so much unnecessary suffering to these beings. After all, it’s undeniable that we reap what we sow. In this case, we are sowing obesity, pain, suffering and heart disease in chickens and we are reaping the same calamities in humans. It’s time to take responsibility for our actions and chose to live harmonious, loving and joyful lives on Earth. Adopting a plant-based diet helps us to achieve this goal.
