Israel, where until recently the term vegan was associated to
health-freaks and radicals, is undergoing a momentous change. More
and more people are adopting a plant-based diet or choosing to
replace some meals with plant-based ones. Much of this change of
view toward veganism was catalyzed by
Gary Yourofsky’s lecture about
veganism, which was posted on YouTube with Hebrew subtitles. The
video focuses mostly on the unethical practice of raising animals
for food and their unavoidable victimization.
