Betsy Wosko writes a compelling article about the deep and true
meaning of Christ’s love, especially in today’s world. She argues
that Christ’s love is not a sentiment but instead radical action
that manifests that love onto all Creation. Therefore, eating God’s
animals; abusing them for entertainment or in laboratories; using
them for clothing; making use of resources in an unsustainable way;
spraying pesticides and insecticides on the soil and air poisoning
the planet; etc. do not accord with Christ’s love because these
actions only cause misery to everyone. Wosko believes that if Christ
were alive today, he would live a vegan lifestyle.

Indeed! How can Christians expect to be witnesses of Christ’s
love when they continue to support industries that cause
unimaginable pain and devastation to all of God’s Creation? The good
news is that another way of life is possible: one of love, joy,
healing and restoration… a vegan lifestyle.
