Tobias Leenaert writes a very insightful article about animal advocacy and the anger that permeates in our movement due to the tremendous suffering humanity causes to animals unnecessarily.
Leenaert is right that anger is one sign of being aware; however, he also rightly states that anger alienates people and turns them away instead of bringing them closer to embracing our beliefs of compassion to all creatures. He emphasized that instead of showing anger, we should show optimism, openness, tolerance, forgiveness, understanding and love, which are qualities that attract people.
In short, we want animal liberation as soon as possible, and “What will bring that day closer, is not our anger, but our love,” says Leenaert.
