1. Activist Feedback

Danja, who leafleted with friends in Holland at the EO Youth Day on June 5, writes:

It was for us first time leafleting in Holland, and it went very well. The weather was great and many people were around the event /building.

Lorena send me about 350 booklets and I am glad we distributed them all! In the beginning I was a little bit nervous because a lot of security and police were walking around the building, but it was very easy spreading around. The booklet is English, but the people were reading it anyway.

We also had some good conversations with a few people. One man has been vegetarian for nine years and his daughter is vegetarian, and he was very happy we were spreading this around.

[Note: Danja is currently translating our booklet into Dutch. It is available in 10 other languages at http://www.all-creatures.org/cva/honoring_flags.htm .

Veggie Brothers offers a wide range of delicious vegan foods, from appetizers to entrees to desserts. Check them out at www.veggiebrothers.com.

3. New CVA Adopt-A-Shop Program

To help spread the CVA’s message, we’ve started an Adopt-A-Shop Program! We’re asking volunteers to ask local restaurants, grocery stores, libraries, etc. to stack our booklet Would Jesus Eat Meat Today? in a “free” or “take-one” area. You can do this any time and at your own discretion. There is the potential for a big impact from a modest time commitment. Please contact Paris at paris@christianveg.com .

4. New Booklet: Compassionate Eating as Care of Creation by Matthew C. Halteman

The CVA is pleased to announce the publication of this booklet in conjunction with the Humane Society of the United States. HSUS did the layout, and CVA and HSUS co-published this 43 page, full-color booklet. Prof. Halteman, who teaches philosophy at Calvin College, makes a compelling case that those who genuinely care about creation should adopt a plant-based. The booklet is beautifully written and illustrated, and is available to CVA members by making a $2 donation at the bottom of www.christianveg.org/materials.htm or by sending a check for $2 to CVA, PO Box 201791, Cleveland, OH 44120.
