In Reference to: 23 September 2012 - Jesus, Son of David, Have Mercy on Me!
Your sermon, “Jesus, Son of David have mercy on me!”, brought tears to my eyes. Especially the latter part about Joe cleaning up the litter & how God hasn’t told us how long it will take; maybe forever, but to continue to clean it up & REPLACE it with our testimony of being peacemaking children of God. Also when you said “as the trash pile of selfishness, cruelty, indifference, etc. builds up around us, we have to remember to EMPTY it lest we also become blinded, was such a powerful message Frank. I have a wonderful testimony of miracles God has done in my life. I am so thankful for them & cling to them during the times I cry out, “God where are you?” I have struggled all my life as long as I can remember with seeing animals suffer. I read Peter Singer’s book, “Animal Liberation” & it opened my eyes even more.
My life is so busy with work and all that I don’t have much spare time, but I did read this one sermon of yours and it struck a chord with me because I’ve also struggled with how can a loving and just God allow all the atrocities that go on in this world. As I finally realized one day that the negative effects of those thoughts were not helping my testimony, I stopped asking & trying to figure out WHY. Now when I am confronted with something that breaks my heart in regards to animals, I pray, “My Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.” Sometimes I have to pray that prayer over and over & then I can leave it with him, knowing he hears my prayer. I pray; Lord have MERCY, daily!!!!! Thank you for your words of encouragement & your CEASELESS devotion to standing up for the animal creatures God created.
Have a wonderful day and may God continue to bless you richly!!!
