Citation: On 9/20/2011, at approximately 0815 hours, while performing an unscheduled 06D01 procedure, the following non-compliance was observed outside the parking area entrance to the facility: several miscellaneous containers, buckets, pails, gates and utensils around the pen, facility and rendering room walls. There are also a few areas of overgrown vegetation. These conditions prevent inspection to insure sanitary conditions and absence of rodent activity. I notified Mr. verbally and with this record of non-compliance. This document serves as a written notice that your failure to comply with regulatory requirements could result in additional regulatory or administrative action.
416.2(a) Grounds and pest control. The grounds about an establishment must be maintained to prevent conditions that could lead to insanitary conditions, adulteration of product, or interfere with inspection by FSIS program employees. Establishments must have in place a pest management program to prevent the harborage and breeding of pests on the grounds and within establishment facilities. Pest control substances used must be safe and effective under the conditions of use and not be applied or stored in a manner that will result in the adulteration of product or the creation of insanitary conditions.
