Citation: At approximately 0900 hours the following conditions were observed; Observed "Light Fowl (Silkies) with necks cut" placed into one receptacle bearing the marking "inedible" creating insanitary conditions. The inedible receptacle containing a total of thirty "Light Fowl (Silkies) with necks cut" retained, tag # B38033316 applied. Establishment Production Supervisor Mr. immediately shown conditions observed and informed regulatory action will remain in effect until corrective action has been performed. Mr. was also informed of failure to meet 9CFR416.1; 416.3(c); 416.4(a).

Regulation:

416.1 Each official establishment must be operated and maintained in a manner sufficient to prevent the creation of insanitary conditions and to ensure that product is not adulterated.

416.3(c) Receptacles used for storing inedible material must be of such material and construction that their use will not result in the adulteration of any edible product or in the creation of insanitary conditions. Such receptacles must not be used for storing any edible product and must bear conspicuous and distinctive marking to identify permitted uses.

416.4(a) All food-contact surfaces, including food-contact surfaces of utensils and equipment, must be cleaned and sanitized as frequently as necessary to prevent the creation of insanitary conditions and the adulteration of product.
