Citation: While performing a scheduled 06D01 and at the observation of facility conditions I notice the following noncompliance that generates this NR for Facility deficiency. While verifying noncompliance with SPS regulation 416.2(b)3 I notice that there are 2 exit doors at the slaughter processing department that that are not constructed and/or maintained to prevent the entrance vermin. The 1st door is the exit door that go to the truck unloading area where the concrete is broke and have an open space between the broken concrete and the door. The second door is the exit door for the inedible room that is attached to the slaughter processing department. The bottom side of the frame of the door y broke and the hole is more than 7 inches. This is a noncompliance to regulation 416.2(b)(3) which state that "Walls, floors, ceilings, doors, windows, and other outside openings must be constructed and maintained to prevent the entrance of vermin, such as flies, rats, and mice". Mr. [redacted] Jr was notified about the noncompliance verbally and with this document. It is the establishment responsibility to maintain the establishment facility in compliance with all SPS regulations applicable to a Federal establishment. A copy of regulations 416 was provided to the establishment as for reference. You are hereby advised of your right to appeal this decision. This document serves as written notification that your failure to comply with regulatory requirements could result in additional regulatory or administrative action. No similar NRs were found in the last 60 days.

Regulation:

416.1 Each official establishment must be operated and maintained in a manner sufficient to prevent the creation of insanitary conditions and to ensure that product is not adulterated.

416.2(b)(3) Walls, floors, ceilings, doors, windows, and other outside openings must be constructed and maintained to prevent the entrance of vermin, such as flies, rats, and mice.
