Citation: On Thursday at approximately 1500, the following was observed: The corner area immediately inside the door where animals enter into the holding pen area has a large amount of peeling paint present. The areas with the peeling paint are a section on the wall above the door which is approximately a 4 ft. x 4 ft. area, also there is another area of the wall with peeling paint of similar size. This area is on the wall adjacent to the door. No product was involved and no regulatory control action was taken. I informed [redacted] (plant manager) of this observation. This does not comply with regulation 416.2(b)(2). This document serves as written notification that your failure to comply with regulatory requirement(s) could result in additonal regulatory or administrative action.


416.2(b)(2) Walls, floors, and ceilings within establishments must be built of durable materials impervious to moisture and be cleaned and sanitized as necessary to prevent adulteration of product or the creation of insanitary conditions.
