USDA Inspection Report: 1 Nov 2010

Code: 06D01
Violation: 416.2(a), 416.2(c)

Citation: On Monday, November 01, 2010 at 0830 while performing task code 06D01 the following noncompliance's were observed. While checking the outside premises of the facility I observed the following: 1. Tall weeds growing along side the facility located near the offal chute. 2. Numerous amounts of turkey particles on the ground {concrete} and on the top of stainless steel covers of the fans locate in the same area. 3. The light leading up the stairs to the entrance of the top of the ice machine is not functioning properly. The above mentioned #1 is a good source for rodent harborage. I then proceed to look for any rodent evidence in the immediate area and inside the facility and none was observed. Since the findings are less than perfect conditions. They are still noncompliance's according to the following Meat & Poultry regulations: 416.2 (a) Grounds and pest control. The grounds about an establishment must be maintained to prevent conditions that could lead to insanitary conditions, adulteration of product, or interfere with inspection by FSIS program employees. Establishments must have in place a pest management program to prevent the harborage and breeding of pests on the grounds and within establishment facilities. Pest control substances used must be safe and effective under the conditions of use and not be applied or stored in a manner that will result in the adulteration of product or the creation of insanitary conditions. (c) Light. Lighting of good quality and sufficient intensity to ensure that sanitary conditions are maintained and that product is not adulterated must be provided in areas where food is processed, handled, stored, or examined; where equipment and utensils are cleaned; and in hand-washing areas, dressing and locker rooms, and toilets. This document serves as written notification that your failure to comply with regulatory requirements could result in additional regulatory or administrative actions. Mr. [redacted] QC manager, was notified of all the findings.
