Citation: At approximately 1330 hour FI found a roach in the restroom of USDA inspection office with black in color and approximately half inch on length. after twenty minutes he found another one about the same size and black in color I went with him and saw it. I started looking at the walls to check if there are cracks or holes but I did not find . I informed Mr., Evisceration supervisor. both roaches were killed. No product was involved and no regulatory control action was taken. The establishment failed to comply with the requirements of 9CFR 416.2(a).. 416.2(a) The grounds about an establishment must be maintained to prevent conditions that could lead to insanitary conditions, adulteration of product, or interfere with inspection by FSIS program employees. Establishments must have in place a pest management program to prevent the harborage and breeding of pests on the grounds and within establishment facilities. Pest control substances used must be safe and effective under the conditions of use and not be applied or stored in a manner that will result in the adulteration of product or the creation of insanitary conditions.
