Citation: This morning I observed the following conditions in the USDA office: The trash receptacles were not emptied in the office, bathroom, and the one in the IIC office was over filled. The floors had black grime build up with blood stains and pieces of paper and garbage on the floor. The brown rugs were not vacuumed or changed regulary. The bathroom floor had a black grimey build up, the wall around the hand wash sink was grimey and the toilet was not cleaned. There was also cobwebs on bathroom ceiling, under the sample box shelf, aside of the refridgerator and behind the radiator. Regulation 307.1 states that the official establishment shall provide janitor service. The plant manager informed the SCSI Mr. that the USDA office would be cleaned on second shift or weekends.

Regulation:

416.2(b)(2) Walls, floors, and ceilings within establishments must be built of durable materials impervious to moisture and be cleaned and sanitized as necessary to prevent adulteration of product or the creation of insanitary conditions.
