Putting Glass Walls on Pennsylvania Slaughterhouses So We Can See Behind Closed Doors
Hain Pure Protein Corporation

Address: 220 N.Center St, Fredricksburg, PA 17026
Establishment No.: p533

USDA Inspection Report: 8 Nov 2011

Code: 06D01
Violation: 416.2(e)(2), 416.2(e)(5)

Citation: At approximately 2200 hours I came to Hain's during my routine inspection and found a half inch of water throughout the entire USDA office. The QA office was also flooded with water, down the hall, and also directly in front of the USDA office. I went to get maintenance and he said "the sanitation crew opened the scalder and the chiller at the same time to drain them and this is what caused the pipes to backup." The water is clear with no odor. At 0100 the water is still in the office and has not been mopped or taken care of in anyway. Continued failure to meet these regulatory requirements can lead to enforcement actions as described in 9 CFR part 500.4.

Regulation:

416.2(e)(2) Properly convey sewage and liquid disposable waste from the establishment;

416.2(e)(5) Prevent back-flow conditions in and cross-connection between piping systems that discharge waste water or sewage and piping systems that carry water for product manufacturing;
